Single Yellow Bloom

Standing bold and bright
before the woods,
a single yellow bloom…
the contrast stops my shadow;
what a story we’ve stumbled into!

The single yellow bloom
seems larger than the sun
when all alone beaming
against a backdrop
of humdrum.

No other bloom around,
just towering matchstick pines;
the only flame, though, ignited
from a heart of gold
cocooned inside

brave enough
to shine.

          1. Hi Laura! Yep, I felt I was supposed to focus more on renewal for the site, so I went with that in the name. Then my faith was renewed. I’m definitely recharged spiritually. Yet I’m not evangelical though like I was years ago. I’m really liturgical now in my approach to Christianity. Peace and wonderful blessings.

            1. Peace and blessings to you as always, dear Nico. You know I have an old soul and an obsession with the sky, but I love the new name, too, and especially the association with your renewed faith and your consistent deep connection with Creation. ☺️

      1. Yes, ladies! Love that you see this! I was thinking too about how I recently resolved to be my old lively, zany, cheerful, “extra” self as a teacher despite the very discouraging and dreary atmosphere at school that the virus is blamed for. I’m hoping to reseed some life and positivity around me but will be the solitary one with continued determination if need be. 🙂 Thank you for commenting!
