Every Season Sought

Hold me tender,
the only one I seek:
temporary tear breach.

Dam the rest
as your love ripples,
fills again those crevices,
archaic, getting old.

I long for those fissures
to grave-grow cold.

Your weathered browns
still warm my soul.

(No sadness today, just recalling those times in each season when I needed most, and you drew me near to remind me of the greatest, purest truth I know. ❤️)

Drops of Time

Sometimes you need
to let go
of both the past and present
to make room for
your future

waiting so patiently
to embrace you
if your heart
and arms
were not so
full

of nonliving yesterdays
and unfulfilling todays;
though they may haunt
and though they may sustain,

it is only your future
that can bring
what you can’t help but
need

and deserve.
Eventually,

the future, too,
moves on.
And before you know it,
you’ve achieved

survival
until you’re

Let your future
bring you

love…

Restless

IMG_4963.JPG

Restless

is my soul

in this skin,

morphing,

from the cocoon

but not yet used to these

wings,

free

from the dark, cramped

past-life chrysalis

but not free enough

from the weighted wet

preventing my wings

from fully drying,

so I can fly,

soar to my fullest

potential,

reach the height

I’ve been aching for

since I was born.

Restless is my soul

still

in its search for the home

waiting for me.

Not in a rush,

but tired

of the delays

with wings

still not ready

to take me

where I so long

to be.

Perhaps

my home

will come

to me…
