Never Fully

Golden Orb so slowly burned out,
descended beyond all trace,
save for its selfless beacon beam
upon Waxing Crescent’s face

who, in turn, invited every star
with unknown name
to share the stage
for the benefit,
Hope’s Grace,

admission for all, free,
no matter the creed;
for me, I believe
the Creator of space
so lovingly handmade
a place where the light
never fully recedes,
personally for you
and for me.

Give Me Cloudy Days

Give me cloudy days!
Fill the skies
with grandiose displays,
billows of magnificence,
those ever-shifting shapes!

No sunrise will I miss
when those clouds get their first kiss
and set off on their journey
blushing with pink bliss.

Let the clouds continue to bloom
when the skies default to blue;
all day long, let them come
and show off what they can do.

I’ll still be looking up
when the sun begins to drop
and kisses again the clouds goodnight
as night begins its watch.

In front of moon, the clouds pass
in my favorite nocturnal dance
in lines floating by
that captivate and hold me entranced.

Thank you, Creator, for garnishing with clouds;
how boring the view would be without!
Thank you for the constant reminder
that You are still undoubtedly around.

I Will Never Tire

I will never tire of

morning birdsong,

IMG_5028

the daily rising of the sun,

IMG_7294

the ways the rays

beam between trees,

IMG_3826

the clouds that form

in such artistry,

IMG_5631

the freedom flaunted in wildflowers,

IMG_7009

all the colors of twilight hours,

IMG_4497

the breezes that rouse my desires,

IMG_E3375

the stars that kindle my dreams afire,

IMG_1187

for as long as I am alive,

I will never tire

of these natural delights,

never tire

even when the seasons fade away,

for a spirit saturated in the natural

never decays.

Sea Summoned

It calls,

the distant sound

of crashing waves.

It draws

us from our shells

and caves.

We come

and gather,

toes lining the shore,

migrating creatures

eager to release

the excess we’ve stored.

We submerge our bodies

into the saline solvent

hoping to emerge lighter

with washed-off problems.

We stand before the span

of the vast aquahorizon in awe,

the expanse of creation in relation

makes us again precious yet small.

The sea summons souls

in sincere benevolence,

offering pieces of secrets

and some peace for each of us.
