When and Will

When you start to droop,

I won’t let you wilt;

I will be the sun after the rain

and the rain in your drought.

When your spirits are high,

I will meet you atop the cumulonimbus;

wing to wing we will soar

beyond the sky limit.

When you lose your steam

and need to rest,

I will nestle into you

in our cozy nest.

When your heart is most tender

and your eyes fill up,

I will be the leaf that contours

to receive the drops.

When your peaks and valleys

rise and fall

like your chest with every breath,

I will be your hearth and home

in this glorious wilderness.
