Another Tomorrow

IMG_4548.jpgBlack Swan

swims solo still

in the same pond

under the moon’s comforting glow

floating in the not-so-dream-like blur that

shifts, swirls, ever-so-subtly

like ripples mingling with fog

where sky meets land on the horizon

but all is silent,

not even the crickets interrupt,

as the solo trumpet pierces

the night air

unanswered,

always

unanswered,

floating with hope

into another tomorrow…
