Wakewalking

IMG_6370

Silent night,

beneath the moonlight,

I float,

hovering above the houses–

weather dry

and temperate–

in a way,

peaceful,

undisturbed,

unseen,

safe,

taking it all in

from a distance,

the stardust

all the magic

I need;

Moon’s glow

soaks my soul

and the rawness

is temporarily

soothed.

In a way,

amidst all the swirling

unanswered questions

and confusions

and frustrations,

I understand.

It’s okay.

My time will come.

Someday, I know,

I will be brought

home.

Time now, though, to return to my bed,

empty and cold…
